BEGINNER WHEEL THROWING

The 8 week beginner's wheel throwing class provides participants with the fundamentals of working with clay and throwing on the wheel.  Students learn to centre and throw basic cylinder forms on the wheel, trim and glaze their work all while learning good studio practices.

HANDBUILDING WITH MARY

A fun and casual 2-part workshop that covers essential hand building techniques for creating both decorative and functional pieces.  This is an ideal class for beginners who will learn how to use slabs, molds, coils, decorative effects and more to create bowls, cups, platters or decorative objects.  A project based hand class where participants will complete approximately 2 pieces -- a platter, canoe, mug, bowl, your choice!  Come play and create with one of our 'founding members' Mary Lahaie!

CLAY AND PLAY DATE NITE

In this three part class you are encouraged to sign up with a friend, sibling, roommate, parent, or partner.  During the first session participants will learn new skills in ceramics and make objects that reflect that skill. In this course we will learn slab building and pinch pots. Once we have a better understanding of clay, during the second session each paring can work on a final project of their choosing. Matching mugs? Great! Friendship planters? Why not! Sculptures based on an inside joke? Absolutely! Partners return for a 3rd session after the pieces have been through their first firing and are ready for final decoration and glazing.
